How Do You Start Your Treatment with SureSmile?
The first step is a consultation with Dr. Sabharwal. He can quickly tell you if you are a good candidate to get an excellent result with SureSmile treatment.
When you decide to go with SureSmile, Dr. Sabharwal will then scan your teeth and mouth using a state-of-the-art scanner that fits comfortably inside your mouth.
Dr. Sabharwal will then carefully plan your new smile, using your scanned oral images and proprietary SureSmile planning software. In conjunction with SureSmile Digital Lab specialists, the plan for your treatment will be laid out.
SureSmile will fabricate your clear aligners and ship them directly to our office within about two weeks. We will then have you stop by our office to try the first one on for fit. We will then discuss the entire treatment period with you, what to expect and how to care for your aligners.
You will then take your aligners home and wear them 20 to 22 hours each day. At the end of one to two weeks, you’ll switch to the next aligner in the series you were provided. We’ll make sure you understand your schedule of treatment when you first receive your aligners.
You will be scheduled for a brief visit in our office once a month and a more complete review every few months. Our SureSmile patients spend much less time in our office than a typical conventional braces patient would.
How Long Will Treatment Take with SureSmile?
That depends completely on the nature of your treatment. Some people with mild spacing issues may only need six or seven months of treatment. But a patient with an overbite and crooked teeth may need more than a year to correct their bite and smile. This is comparable to or possibly shorter than treatment with conventional metal braces.
