Efforts to straighten teeth with some sort of wire wrapping date back over 2000 years. This eventually developed into what we think of today as traditional metal braces. This system works well, but has some disadvantages. The metal brackets and wires can sometimes be uncomfortable and cause irritation to the inside of your mouth. HOW INVISALIGN WORKS

We take x-rays, photos and impressions of your teeth which the Invisalign lab uses to custom-make a series of aligner trays which fit snugly over your teeth. Each tray is designed to shift your teeth just a little bit. You wear each set of aligner trays for about two weeks, then switch to the next set. About every six weeks, you come to our office so we can check how the treatment is progressing. Your teeth become straighter with each succeeding set of aligner trays until they are beautifully aligned and you have the smile you wanted.
